Introducing AMTA-Member and Chapter Secretary, Jamie Hunt of Bennington, NE, one of this year’s Nebraska Chapter's IMPACT MAKERS.
Here's is the info you should know about Jamie in her own words:
LMT years: 20 years
AMTA years: 3 years
Business: I work in a spa in a Chiropractic office in Omaha. I practice Swedish, Deep Tissue, Orthopedic, Prenatal and cupping massage.
Family/Life outside of work: I work hard to play hard! I have a full time job, and practice massage therapy part time. When I am not working, I enjoy camping with my family and friends, kayaking with my husband, and going to concerts. I genuinely love being around people!
How do you promote the massage therapy profession in your community: I always find opportunities to talk about the importance of taking time for yourself. You can only give to others if you have given to yourself first.
In what ways do you participate in your community: I am always willing to lend a hand to those in need. I volunteer at the Open Door Mission, and am a big advocate for suicide awareness and sex trafficking awareness and volunteer wherever I am needed.
Do you have any words of wisdom to share that have helped you in your career: My favorite- “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” -Pele, Brazilian soccer player
