Business: I am self-employed, but work directly with a Chiropractor as well as a Physical Therapist. We work as a team with shared patients.
Family/Life outside of work: Does work ever end? When you are passionate about your job, you always seem to be attracted to more work.😉 My family is who I spend my free time with. My daughter rodeos and my son is involved in sports, so I stay busy with them.
How do you promote the massage therapy profession in your community: I personally like to ensure our other healthcare workers, such as our local doctors, understand the benefits of massage therapy, especially from an orthopedic and pain standpoint versus focusing on traditional therapies and narcotics. I spend a lot of time attending local health fairs as well as setting up booths for chair massages at events where one wouldn’t think of massage therapy being, but there is always an engaged crowd! I regularly visit our local hospital, clinic, and nursing homes to offer chair massages to their staff.
In what ways do you participate in your community: Whatever is needed from community events, fundraisers or the chamber, I am always willing to jump in and help where needed. I also coach for the local high school track team.
Do you have any words of wisdom to share that have helped you in your career: Don’t ever doubt yourself. Always believe.
