This month's featured Impact maker is Mitchell Lowry-Lee, of Lincoln Nebraska
Here's is the info you should know about Mitch in his own words
LMT years: 9 years
AMTA years: 9 years
Impacting the profession for how many years: maybe 8 years, I don’t count the first year, I was still figuring out all the logistics.
Business: In 2015, I became a co-owner of Inner Peace Massage after being an independent contractor my first 2 years of being a massage therapist. I wanted to create a place that was unique, in that it captured the unique spirit of what we do as massage therapists, in a unique way.
Family: I am married to my husband of 10 years, he works for FEMA. We have 2 pet dogs named Pippa and Nigel, love to go hiking and camping during vacations.
What impact do you bring to the chapter: I am currently the Financial Administrator, in the past I have also been secretary and board member for this chapter. When I went through massage school I knew it was important to do more for my new profession, and become involved in advocating on behalf of Nebraska’s massage professionals. I feel I’ve brought a more streamlined, updated and energetic look to how this chapter’s board runs and works on behalf of this states members. I am the go to tech guru for the chapter. Becoming a volunteer with AMTA-Ne opened new networking opportunities for me that I don’t think I would have sought out on my own had I not be a participating member. I decided to help my chapter because I saw needs that weren’t being met and I know I could make an impact on bringing this chapter into the 21st century.
